Just Car Clinics the winner at regional awards

A YORKSHIRE firm which helps thousands of British motorists to get back on the road has triumphed at a major awards dinner.

Goole-based Just Car Clinics scooped the overall business of the year title at the second Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards. Just Car Clinics is the second largest accident repair company in Britain, with 24 centres.

Just Car Clinics’ clients include The AA, Axa, and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Apart from taking the overall title, Just Car Clinics also triumphed in the learning and development category, which was sponsored by Goole College.

The event, which attracted 200 business leaders, celebrated the successes of East Yorkshire’s corporate community. The awards ceremony was the first to be held at Goole High School’s new academy conference centre. The Goole academy conference centre is part of the school’s new conference, media and IT service brand, Think. The awards were sponsored by Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce.

Garrey Hasse, the chairman of the organising committee, said, “We are absolutely delighted at the success of the evening and we are extremely grateful to the sponsors and business that entered, making it all possible.”

Head teacher Danuta Tomasz said: “It was probably the most exciting night in the school’s history, since the new building opened.”

Flourish and Prosper, a delicatessen and wine merchant in Goole, received the Contribution To The Community (Commercial) award sponsored by Associated British Ports (ABP).

The Blacksmiths Arms, a Goole-based pub, snapped up the Customer Service Excellence award, sponsored by Glews.

Chrissie Metcalfe Recruitment, was given the New Business Of The Year award, which was sponsored by Cobus Communications Group.

Page Consulting, a business improvement firm, won the Innovative Business award, which was sponsored by Filplastic.

Goole and District Community Transport Group received the Contribution To The Community (Third Sector) award sponsored by Goole High School.

Alex Mellor, of The Oaks Golf Club, received the employee of the year title sponsored by TransAtlantic.

Letting company the Link Agency, received the Business Of The Year (Under 20 Employees) award, sponsored by H. Walton.

Caravan retailer Wandahome (South Cave) picked up the Business Of The Year (More Than 20 Employees) award.
