Knife robber strikes at Bradford bookmakers

POLICE are hunting a knife-wielding robber who threatened staff at a Bradford bookmakers before escaping with cash.

The incident happened at Coral Bookmakers, Huddersfield Road, Low Moor, Bradford, at around 7:35pm on Thursday 24 September.

A man entered the bookmakers armed with a knife and threatened staff before making off with cash.

He turned right as he left the shop and headed in the direction of the housing estate.

The suspect is described as having dark or possibly Asian skin. He was wearing a balaclava, a grey hooded tracksuit top with the hood pulled above his head, and gloves.

He was described as being about 6ft tall and of ‘scrawny’ build.

Det Ins Andy Howard, of Bradford District CID, said: “We believe there were a number of people in the area at the time of this robbery and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has any information about the offence.
