Dozens of firefighters were tonight tackling a major blaze at a former mill building in Keighley.

A total of eight pumps from across West Yorkshire were called to Stockbridge Tyres on Aireworth Road shortly before 6.30pm.

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said a “multi-use garage” measuring around 80 metres by 20 metres was affected.

Residents in the area were told to keep their doors and windows closed by the emergency services.

Police said they were helping to deal with a “large fire” and advised motorists that Aireworth Road had been closed.
