Leeds Building Society has extended its sponsorship deal with the Leeds Rhinos rugby team.
The Society, which began sponsoring the Rhinos in 2007, will continue as the main club sponsor until the end of the 2017 rugby league season.
Leeds Building Society chief executive, Peter Hill, said: “We are delighted to be extending our sponsorship of the Rhinos for another two years. We share so many values - our passion for success, our team spirit and our commitment to the communities we serve.
“Leeds Rhinos have enjoyed their most successful period in history, via their golden generation, with Leeds Building Society proudly on the front of the most popular shirt in Super League.”
While wearing the Leeds Building Society sponsored strips, the Rhinos have been crowned the Carnegie World Club Champions in 2008 and 2012, and won the Grand Final in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012.
The Super League side also won the League Leaders Shield in 2009 and triumphed at the Challenge Cup Final in 2014.
Leeds Rugby chief executive, Gary Hetherington, said: “There is a perfect fit between us both and we are very proud to carry the name of a major Leeds-based national business on the shirts.
Mr Hill said that he was passionate about supporting grassroots rugby in Leeds Building Society’s heartland. He added that the group’s Blue & Amber affinity account, a savings account that sees Leeds Building Society make a donation to Leeds Rhinos equivalent to 1 per cent of the total balances held in the account, has already contributed more than £440,000 for the development of junior rugby and to support the Rhinos’ community programmes.
