Bin collection dates in Leeds will change between Christmas Day and January 10 – but the council says it won’t be writing to residents about the revised dates.

Rubbish will be emptied either one or two days later than normal, but the council says it is saving money after deciding not to send letters to the city’s 320,000 households.

The only way residents can find out is at www.leeds.gov.uk/mybinday or via housing offices and newsletters, neighbourhood networks, libraries, one stop centres, post offices and community centres.

People are being urged to remind neighbours of the new dates.
