THE M1 near Leeds has been closed after a serious crash involving two cars.
The motorway is shut northbound near junction 42. The southbound carriageway was initially set to shut to allow the air ambulance to land but has remained open after emergency services decided it was not needed.
A two-year was among those in the crashed vehicles, although the toddler was not thought to be seriously injured.
There is stationary traffic northbound between J42, M62 (Lofthouse) and J44, A639 (Rothwell).
Traffic is also queueing on the M62 eastbound between J27, the M621 at Gildersome and J29 with the M1 (Lofthouse).
On the M621 out of Leeds, traffic is tailing back westbound to junction 6.
