Theft-hit boxing club founder to sell off Tyson belt

THE founder of an amateur boxing club is auctioning one of his prized possessions to replace club money stolen from his car.

Mark Reynolds, who set up Rawthorpe Amateur Boxing Club in Huddersfield, is counting the cost after thieves broke into his car and stole £1,400 belonging to the club.

He has now decided to auction a replica WBA heavyweight title belt which was given to him by Mike Tyson as a thank you for working on his security team during the American boxer’s tour of the UK in 2009.

The belt is signed by Tyson in two places.

Mr Reynolds is prepared to part with the belt in order to help the boxing club, which is based at the Gasworks Club in Huddersfield.

He said the boxing club was struggling to keep going following a number of break-ins, with the theft from his car just the latest blow to its fortunes.

Anyone interested in the belt can contact him via email: mark.left-jab@hotmail.co.uk
