Huddersfield Town Women appoint new manager

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN Women's side have named Jordan Wimpenny as the club's new first-team manager.

Wimpenny was previously first-team coach for the side, having arrived at the club in July 2019. He succeeds Ashley Vickers as manager.

The 27-year-old has had a plethora of coaching experience, having previously worked as an academy coach at Stevenage and MK Dons, while also working with the ECFA (English College’s National Team) Men’s Team.

Wimpenny also works in the local community for the Huddersfield Town Foundation and leads their Tomorrow’s Terriers programme, which aims to develop youngsters in and around Huddersfield.

Chairman David Mallin said: "We are absolutely thrilled that Jordan will be taking over as the new Manager of Huddersfield Town’s Women.

"Since joining us last July, he has impressed and showed real leadership and motivational qualities, which will help him as he makes the step up with us.

"I think a lot of people can see that this team has a lot of potential and I believe that Jordan, with his knowledge of the team, is the perfect person to help take us to the next level.

"I look forward to continuing my working relationship with him and I’m excited for the future of Huddersfield Town Women."
