Police are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old man died following a two-car crash in Barnsley.

A blue Vauxhall Astra and a white Mercedes van were involved in collision on the A616 bypass between Wortley and Tankersley at around 10.10am on Friday February 10.

The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a 21-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes van was also taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
