A MAN was being questioned last night on suspicion of manslaughter after a 15-year-old boy died from gunshot injuries he suffered at a farm.
Police were called to Ulpha, near Broughton-in-Furness, Cumbria, at about 11.15pm yesterday. A police spokeswoman said the incident took place as two men and the boy were shooting on farmland with the permission of the owner.
The teenager was taken to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and was initially in a critical condition. But Cumbria Police later confirmed he had died.
Cumbria Police confirmed last night that officers were questioning a 35-year-old man from Barrow on suspicion of manslaughter. The other man, aged in his 40s, was not injured in the incident and was not arrested.
