Man seriously injured as car is flipped upside down near Rotherham

A 47-year-old man suffered serious injuries when a car flipped over and landed on its roof in a village near Rotherham.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred in the Hooton Roberts area on bank holiday Monday at around 6.50pm.

A blue Vauxhall Corsa was travelling on the A630 Doncaster Road towards Rotherham and when it was around half a mile before the junction with Holmes Lane, the vehicle left the road, turned over and came to rest on its roof.

No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

The injured man, who was a passenger in the Corsa, was taken to hospital.

The driver, a 39-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses are asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 902 of May 1.
