A drive-by shooting in Sheffield in the early hours is being treated by police as a targeted attack.
A 27-year-old man suffered leg injuries in the incident in Chadwick Road, in the Woodthorpe estate area, at 2.20am.
The man from Sheffield is being treated at Northern General Hospital where his condition is described as serious.
Detective Inspector Martin Tate said: “Initial enquiries suggest this shooting is targeted.
“There will be an increased police presence in the Manor Top area of Sheffield while we continue to investigate this serious incident.”
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who may have information about it to call 101 quoting incident number 140 of 14 September.
