Traffic tailbacks are starting to clear on the M62 motorway after a crash that left a man in hospital this morning.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service officers were called to the scene on the M62 westbound between junction 25 at Brighouse and junction 24 at Ainley Top today at around 8.30am.

A van was involved in a road traffic collision, which left a man trapped and resulted in lengthy delays for drivers.

The man had to be removed from the vehicle by firefighters and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Fire crews from Rastrick, Huddersfield and Cleckheaton attended the incident along with Technical Rescue Unit also from Cleckheaton.

All lanes have now been reopened and it is thought traffic flow will return to normal within the next hour.
