PLEASE could we have some enforcement of the “no smoking” rule in our bus and train stations? I live in Todmorden. There is always someone (often many) smoking in our bus station when I pass through, in other hubs and bus shelters also, and often the train stations too. All over West Yorkshire.
The other evening I asked a group of children (I estimate 12-13 years-old) who were smoking and spitting “please would you smoke outside”. They just swore back. Metro have been asked to enforce the “no smoking” rule before but no action seems to have been taken.
I have involved West Yorkshire Police more than once.
Metro have been asked to enforce the “no smoking” rule before but no action seems to have been taken. CCTV will show thousands of these incidents, all day every day.
I simply don’t want to breathe other people’s tobacco or cannabis smoke, as is my right. Many of us victims of this assault on our bodies do care. Some are too timid to comment or act.
I’m not going to let this issue drop until it has been dealt with satisfactorily and completely. Professional security staff could be amply funded by recouped fines. The time for action was years ago. Please could someone make a start?
