Motorcyclist pronounced dead at scene following road collision

A motorcyclist has died after a crash last night (Friday).

Police today confirmed the 48-year-old was killed following a collision on Walkington Head, Walkington, near Beverley at 7pm.

A passing driver contacted police after seeing a red Honda VTR motorcycle in a field beside the road.

Emergency services attended and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "The rider’s family are now being supported by specially trained officers.

"We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the motorcycle leaving the road at around 7pm or anyone who saw the motorcycle prior to the collision as it was being ridden towards Walkington. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log 515 of 31/03/17."
