New contract awards spur software house NDL to expand its southern base

Software house NDL, which is based in Wetherby and specialises in software integration and mobile working technology for the public sector, has expanded its operations at its new base in Leatherhead, Surrey.

New account wins at Ashford Borough Council and Surrey County Council have encouraged NDL to make significant investment in its southern office, as it seeks to expand its market share.

It currently works with a third of local councils in the UK and around 60 NHS bodies.

The newly expanded teams will have 11 full-time staff including developers, sales representatives and a management team.

Further expansion is also planned for 2013 with the recruitment of several more senior personnel and the introduction of classroom training services at the Leatherhead office.

NDL, which has a turnover of around £3m and 45 staff, produces a range of software products, which are geared towards the integration of front and back-office systems or the mobilisation of public sector workforces.

NDL’s managing director, Declan Grogan, commented: “2012 has been another positive year of growth for NDL with a 30 per cent rise in recurring revenues. The decision to expand our operations in Leatherhead reflects this growth and our ambition to provide manageable, cost-effective solutions to organisations around the country.

“With the public sector under increasing pressure to do more with less, it’s now more important than ever to prioritise efficiency in order to protect frontline services and word is spreading between authorities and trusts about the genuine and significant savings being achieved by their peers using NDL technology.

“While our software tools place much of the power in the hands of the client, we understand that it pays for us to actively invest in them achieving the best possible outcomes in the shortest possible time. We feel it is vital to have members of our development, technical and customer relations teams located nearby.”
