The historic vehicles of the North Yorkshire Moors Railways normally require rails, but this weekend classic road vehicles, including this MG, joined steam locomotives for two days of nostalgia.
The Classic Cars and Vehicles Weekend took place at stations along the line from Pickering to Grosmont, with visitors invited to hop on and off the train. At Pickering, heritage bus rides outside the station gave travellers a first taste of the vintage event, while at Levisham Station, there was live music.
Classic cars and motorbikes were on show at Grosmont and Goathland stations – from vintage vehicles to more recent classics, like the 1983 Mini Mayfair getting a polish from owner Mike Young (inset). Danielle Ramsay, marketing manager, said: “This event is always one of the most popular in our calendar.” pictures: Gerard Binks
