Off-duty officer killed in street attack named

A policeman who died after being attacked while off duty has been named.

Pc Chris Findley suffered a serious head injury after becoming involved in a row during a night out in Wolverhampton city centre in the early hours of Monday, January 28.

The 33-year-old died in hospital on Thursday night, West Midlands Police said.

Pc Findley was punched after becoming involved in an argument with a man and two women who were leaving a nightclub.

Chief Inspector Paul Betts said: “Chris was a proactive, hard-working officer who was a credit to the service.”
