Scarborough police are appealing for the public’s help to locate a man to be recalled to prison just days after he was released from jail for a violent attack.
John Callum Shellard, 22, was released from prison on July 13, a year into a sentence for grievous bodily harm for attacking a 26-year-old man on Seamer Road.
He is now wanted for recall as he has failed to live at a specified address which breaches the terms of his release licence.
Inspector Mike Fenton, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: ”Shellard has shown a flagrant disregard for the justice system, having breached the terms of his release licence on the day he left prison.
“If you see Shellard, I advise that you don’t approach him and call the police immediately.”
Shellard is white, 5ft 10ins, with a medium build and short brown hair.
