Oldham Athletic v Huddersfield Town: Town chief striving to achieve balance
League one: HUDDERSFIELD Town have won plaudits for an attacking approach on their travels this season but manager Lee Clark knows that a return of four points is not good enough if they want to achieve their minimum target of a place in the play-offs.
Buoyed by a 4-0 home win over Leyton Orient, Clark said ahead of tomorrow afternoon's game at Boundary Park: "Some of our attacking play at times in that game was of the highest quality and over the last few weeks some of our players at the high end of the pitch have come back into form individually."
He tempered that by adding: "What we need to do is address the away form and start picking up the points on our travels. Our form at home makes the away situation quite frustrating; we know that we have some great attacking players, so to only have four points from our travels is very frustrating.
"We have to find the balance between our attacking play and getting the defensive side of things right. At Charlton, I felt we found that balance in general play and did very well, but we didn't defend set-pieces correctly. We have to combine everything to get positive results on the road.
"The biggest issue is that we have to cut out the individual errors. To be honest, we really should be a couple of points better off than we are."
He expects Oldham to provide a tough test, especially with former Town players Andy Holdsworth, Pawel Abbott, Keigan Parker and Jon Worthington in their ranks.
