It is noted that the Labour Party Shadow Chancellor Mr John McDonnell is still calling the Grenfell Tower fire, ‘social murder’.

I believe that people, including politicians, who try to make political capital out of other peoples’ suffering are not worthy to be in office.

I wonder if Mr Jeremy Corbyn had won the General Election four days earlier, whether he would have been called a murderer, too?

The fire was a terrible disaster and a tragedy for a lot of families and their friends and relatives. The people responsible for approving the design for the refurbishment; the acceptance of the works completed; and the approval of the associated fire and emergency evacuation plan should be charged with corporate manslaughter if found to be implicated in the disaster.

Then we can all learn lessons from this fire and the enormous loss of life and injuries. If certain politicians want to revert to ‘summary justice’ then let them say this in plain language and we can have the debate about ‘guilty people’, in open forum.

But, at the same time, put the ‘rent a mob’ fraternity back in their cages, until that debate is concluded.
