YORKSHIRE-based pitman Training Group will soon be helping to nurture India’s business leaders of the future.
The independent training provider, which has its head office in Wetherby, is set to be a key player in developing the executive education model in India as it brings its model of computer-based, “experiential learning”, to support the development of education and skills in South Asia.
Pitman Training’s managing director Clare Lister said that Pitman has joined forces with Franchise India to improve training for careers across India.
A spokesman said: “Pitman Training has been teaching shorthand in India since the turn of the 20th Century, returning now to introduce the modern equivalents in office training into the workplace, focused on vocational training and career development.
“Talks are already ongoing with some of India’s leading educational institutes around the opening of centres later in 2015 and it’s expected there will be a significant number of Pitman Training centres across India by the end of the year.”
Ms Lister said: “There is a big focus on British education in India – it is a growing education market with massive investment in up-skilling the population as well as individuals investing high proportions of their income into education.
“This provides a great opportunity for Pitman Indian franchisees to take a strong British brand and use it to fit the demand for skills, aligning with UK qualifications, which are heavily in demand.
