POLICE have launched an appeal to trace the driver of a heavy goods vehicle which failed to stop after being involved in a multi-car pile-up on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
The lorry, which was travelling on the A684 at Patrick Brompton on the way to Bedale, collided with a Toyota Prius, sending it spinning into a van, before driving off.
The passenger in the Prius, a 77-year-old woman, was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Police, who have launched an appeal following the crash, which happened at 2.30pm on Wednesday, say the truck driver may not have realised what had happened. Witnesses are urged to call 08456060247.
