Port Vale v Huddersfield Town: Width key for Town
LEE CLARK has challenged his Huddersfield Town widemen to make light of playing on a smaller pitch today at Port Vale.
The Terriers travel to the League Two club looking to maintain their reputation as one of the Football League's most attack-minded sides.
Clark is, however, aware that Vale Park's pitch diameters are a couple of yards smaller than those at the Galpharm Stadium, which measures 115 by 76 yards.
The Town manager said: "We have done our homework and checked out the diameters. It just looks bigger because of the stand situation.
"We will need to be at our best to get the widemen in to positions and look to go from there."
Port Vale beat both Sheffield United and Wednesday en route to Micky Adams's men bowing out to Scunthorpe after extra time in the third round of the Carling Cup.
Clark added: "They have a very experienced manager who has managed at the highest level. Port Vale also have a great Cup pedigree and they have already knocked out both Sheffield clubs to prove they are no mugs."
