What are the prospects for the property sector in Yorkshire?

Property has taken the brunt of the post-Brexit vote impact, but we are not expecting to see a significant fall in values. The factors that we faced in 2008 are simply not currently present – such as an over-supply of stock, developments in marginal locations, and unwise lending.

What is the biggest project you have been involved in?

LSH advised Vastint on its purchase of the 20 acre former Tetley Brewery site in Leeds last year, one of the projects that won LSH the accolade of Best Large Agency at the Yorkshire Property Awards in May.

Leeds can be very conservative, so something unusual like Broadcasting House still stands out for its design and use of different materials.

If you could change one thing to improve the property industry in the region, what would it be?

Rebuilding confidence is imperative, as the fundamentals for property are still attractive and we want to see more money flowing into property rather than out, as investors seek a more generous return than those available in the volatile equities markets.

Whom do you admire most in the Yorkshire property industry?

The private property companies based across Yorkshire that plug away with developments in the region.
