The Queen has visited the same building she was absent from for the Prince of Wales’s wedding to view stained glass windows in honour of her Diamond Jubilee.
Accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, she attended a dedication of the Diamond Jubilee windows at Windsor Guildhall yesterday. It was the same venue where Charles married the Duchess of Cornwall in 2005.
The Queen did not attend the civil ceremony at the Guildhall then, with many royal commentators at the time saying it would be inappropriate for her to attend a wedding in what was essentially a “town hall”.
But the Queen, in an eye-catching royal blue cashmere coat and dress with matching hat, was happy to visit yesterday to see the windows gifted to her by the Royal Albert Institute.
