Rotherham pub assault leaves man with serious facial injuries

A 26-year-old man was left with a fractured cheekbone and eye socket after an attack at a pub in Rotherham.

As part of South Yorkshire Police’s investigation into the assault, this CCTV image has now been released to help police identify a man they would like to trace.

The attack occurred in the car park outside the Mason’s Arms pub in Bawtry Road, Wickersley at around 1.10am on Saturday, January 7,

Despite extensive enquiries and the circulation of CCTV images to officers across the force, police said they had been unable to identify the man pictured.

Anyone who recognises the man, who was in the pub on the evening of January 7 or who witnessed the assault, is asked to contact the force via 101, quoting incident number 77 of the date in question.
