Sheffield man attacked after he confronts noisy youths

A BOY aged 16 has been arrested after a 46-year-old man was seriously hurt after he confronted noisy youths near his home.

Police were called to Donovan Road in Parson Cross, Sheffield at 11pm on Saturday following reports that a man and a woman had been attacked.

South Yorkshire Police said a group of youths had congregated on the road and were confronted by the occupant of one of the houses about the noise they were making.

One member of the group allegedly assaulted a 45-year-old woman who suffered minor injuries.

A few minutes later, a 46-year-old man was also assaulted. He suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or events leading up to it.
