A SHOTGUN has been found in woodland close to the spot where a young father from Leeds was murdered more than a month ago.
Forensic experts were yesterday examining the weapon for evidence that could connect it to the killing of Jordan Stapleton on April 16.
Mr Stapleton, 21, was shot dead at his home in Beckhill Chase, Meanwood.
Specialist police teams had been searching nearby woodland after receiving information on Monday.
They discovered the shotgun on Wednesday night.
Detective Superintendent Scott Wood, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a significant find as part of our ongoing investigation into Jordan’s murder.”
Three men aged 19 and one aged 20 have been charged with murder.
