A Rotherham teenager has been locked up for 18 months after stealing the mobile phones of two other youngsters.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was brought before Rotherham magistrates after two robberies in the town centre last autumn.
A 17 year old victim had his Samsung phone stolen after being punched in the stomach as he walked through the car park of Tesco Extra, near to St Anne’s Roundabout, at about 5:30pm on Sunday September 27.
The second victim, also 17, had his Samsung mobile taken while walking along Boswell Street on Tuesday November 17.
As well as imposing the sentence, magistrates instructed the boy to pay a £380 surcharge to his victims.
