From: Paul Morley, Ribblesdale Estate, Long Preston, Skipton.
A FIRE brigade officer has been advising people to stop using chip pans as they are very dangerous and he had dealt with two such fires recently which had resulted in fatalities.
I should imagine that the use of chip pans in this day and age is a mere fraction of their usage in the 1950s and 60s.
On that assumption, why did we not hear of multitudes of people dying then from burning fat?
Chip pans are no more dangerous than they used to be but the users of them seem to have evolved into a race of incompetents who either don’t know or don’t care about the consequences of their own actions.
In praise of Cameron
From: Roger M Dobson, Ash Street, Cross Hills, Keighley.
HURRAH, hurrah, David Cameron has at last made some sensible remarks in public.
Firstly, he rebuffed Europe when he said that prisoners in our jails will not be allowed to vote.
Better still, he called Ed Balls a muttering idiot and how right he was.
More power to his elbow.
Travellers find no difficulties
