A1M link road closed in North Yorkshire as accident investigation continues

Accident investigators are working at the scene of a crash which took place just off the A1M in North Yorkshire this morning.

The link road between the northbound carriageway at junction 49 and the A168 northbound near Dishforth has been closed for several hours.

Highways England announced the road closure shortly after 7am, saying that emergency services were responding to a "serious collision" involving an overturned vehicle.

All lanes of the link road are currently closed, with a diversion in place.

The closure is expected to be lifted by around 10.15am.

In the meantime, drivers are being advised to exit at junction 48 and follow the solid circle diversion symbol.

What is the diversion route?

At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A6055.

At the next roundabout, take the first exist onto the A168.

Continue on this road for around five miles until the junction with the A1M at junction 49, where you can continue your journey.
