Sorry your train's late - so here's a video of the Yorkshire Dales

The Be Mindful service features real-time footage of train journeys and videos of picturesque locations such as the Dales and Loch Lomond.

It is available on Virgin’s entertainment app, Beam.

Over the past 12 months 17% of Virgin’s east coast services, which connect Leeds, York and Doncaster to London, failed to arrive at their destination within 10 minutes of their scheduled time.

Virgin’s co-chairman, Patrick McCall, predicted that the Be Mindful channel would boost the mood of passengers.

He said: “We know a lot of our customers lead busy and stressful lives, so we wanted to launch an exclusive channel to make their journeys an even more positive and relaxed experience.”
