Twelve acres of corn destroyed after combine harvester fire spreads to surrounding fields in East Yorkshire
TWELVE acres of corn crops were destroyed when a fire to a combine harvester spread to the surrounding fields.
Firefighters were called to the scene, at High Street, near Rudston, East Yorkshire, at about 10.20pm yesterday (August 11).
A spokesperson for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said they used nine hose reels, haydrags, beaters and farm machinery to bring the flames under control.
The combine harvester was destroyed.
