Two arrested in botched Hull cash machine theft

Police were called at 5.25am to reports of two men allegedly attempting to steal the machine near Cineworld at Kingswood Retail Park.

When officer arrived, one of the men attempted to flee the area in a Jeep and in doing so he collided with the second man and a police officer.

Both men, aged 35 and 45, were arrested in connection with the incident.

The 35-year-old man was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment following the collision, while the police officer suffered an injured leg.

Police said road closures were in place at the retail park whilst they investigate.
