United Carpets and Beds has introduced more efficient waste practices at eight of its UK stores after signing a deal with fellow Yorkshire firm, Orchard Facilities Management.
The Rotherham-based flooring and bed retailer said the deal would support its mission to offer value to its customers by streamlining operations and reducing costs.
Simon Sherwin of United Carpets said: “The deal will result in lower overheads as we introduce the new management processes at eight of our franchises, helping us to keep prices low for our customers. It will also simplify administration by providing us with a single invoice and point of contact for these sites.”
James Holdsworth of Elland-based Orchard said: “Restructuring of waste services is already underway at the Lincoln site and will be introduced at further stores across the Midlands and North of England in the coming weeks and months. We have also been able to negotiate lower prices for waste collection at each of the eight sites.”
