Two people have been arrested and are in police custody following shots fired earlier today in the McDonalds car park on St Andrews Quay, Hull.

A member of the public rang 999 to report shots being fired at a blue Volkswagen Golf outside the fast food outlet on St Andrew’s Quay at 11.35am.

The car’s windows were blown out but neither of the two people inside was hurt.

The suspects fled the car park, passing Asda on Hessle Road, in the direction of Gypsyville.

A member of the public received treatment at the scene for shock.

This afternoon police said they believed it was an isolated incident with the offenders and victims known to each other.

They have made two arrests, but said they were still searching for the occupants of the car.

In a statement Humberside Police said: “McDonalds restaurant on St Andrew’s Quay in Hull is now open and the scene guard has been removed.

“The offending vehicle which was initially described as a grey Volkswagen Golf car has been ruled out of the enquiry and CCTV in and around the St Andrew’s Quay area is being looked at.

“Officers continue into the night to locate the offending vehicle and offenders.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information and has not passed this onto to the police, are asked to call 101, quoting log number 160 of 2/1/16.
