FORMER YORK council leader Andrew Waller will take the environment brief in the new coalition administration which will run the city.
He is one of three Liberal Democrats named on the council’s executive along with three Conservatives and the two parties’ leaders.
Fellow Lib Dems Carol Runciman and Nigel Eyre will take responsibility for social care and health and culture, leisure and tourism respectively.
For the Conservatives, Ian Gillies will be in charge of transport and planning, Jenny Brooks will lead on education and David Carr takes housing.
New council leader Chris Steward will take responsibility for finance while deputy leader Keith Aspden will lead on economic development.
The eight councillors will take a reduction in their allowances so the total cost is the same as the outgoing Labour cabinet which had six members.
