Warning: Ostrich-type bird loose near streets in Yorkshire

Officers have issued a warning after an ostrich-type bird was spotted near streets in Doncaster.

The large bird was reportedly seen in the Spotbrough area of Doncaster at around 3pm today (Tuesday).

People are being warned not to approach the bird.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A member of the public has reported seeing the bird at 3pm today (March 14) in woodland near to Nursery Lane.

It is not known if the bird is aggressive but members of the public are requested to call 101 and quote incident number 641 of 14 March, rather than approach the bird."
