I FIND it rather odd that East Riding of Yorkshire Council want to spend a few million pounds of our money to provide “camps” for “travellers”, people who pay absolutely nothing in the way of taxes or dues and do not contribute anything to society.
At the same time, they want to deny people with a long record of work, savings and are able and willing to pay their way, from having a permanent home at the Lakeminster Park site at Beverley.
Let descendants bury Richard III
From: Sue Allen, St Andrews Drive, Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
THE long running saga that continues to fill the papers is where we should bury the remains of Richard III.
There is one easy solution to this. His descendants should have the choice, but they must also be willing to cover the cost of his funeral and reinterment. This would then save the taxpayers having to contribute to all the hype his funeral will cost.
