A MAN walked into a bank in York and reportedly declared he had a bomb.

He fled empty-handed from the High Ousegate branch of Santander at 10.15am yesterday after the robbery attempt.

North Yorkshire Police said soon afterwards a man, 58, admitted responsibility to a community support officer. He was arrested in connection with the incident and was in custody yesterday.
