June 7: American Idiot

American punk band Green Day’s Broadway musical is touring the UK with Newton Faulkner and X-Factor finalist Amelia Lily. The show will be at The Spa, Bridlington (01262 678258, thespabridlington.com) to June 11.

Aug 7: Malala Yousafzai

The youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize will be at First Direct arena, Leeds (0844 2481585, firstdirectarena.com). Shot by the Taliban at 15, she has become known internationally as an educational campaigner.

June 16: Yorkshire Festival

Held over 18 days, the festival is a celebration of music, dance, theatre, visual art and outdoor performances across the county and includes a garden of fire in Harrogate. To July 3, festival.yorkshire.com

Aug 22: Sister Act

Based on the hit film, this musical version directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood stars Bodyguard actress Alexandra Burke as Deloris Van Cartier.

Hitting the stage at Leeds Grand Theatre (0844 8482700, leedsgrandtheatre.com), the

show runs to August 27.

Sep 27: Alvin Ailey

The renowned American dance theatre will be performing a mixed bill of dance at The Alhambra, Bradford (01274 432000, bradford-theatres.co.uk). The line-up will include new works by acclaimed choreographers. To September 28.
