EIGHT boxers who train at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield have been selected to represent Great Britain at the Beijing Olympics.
Terry Edwards, who guided Audley Harrison to a gold medal in Sydney and Amir Khan to silver four years ago, is again in charge of the team.

The team selected is: Khalid Yafai (flyweight -51kg), Joe Murray (bantamweight -54kg), Frankie Gavin (lightweight -60kg), Bradley Saunders (light welterweight -64kg), Billy Joe Saunders (welterweight -69kg), James DeGale (middleweight -75kg), Tony Jeffries (light Heavyweight -80kg) and David Price (super heavyweight +91kg).

Edwards said: "I'm heading to Beijing with eight boxers which in my experience are the most talented team of GB Boxers in recent years to compete at the Olympic Games.

"My expectations are high and I believe that we can deliver some great performances and if they box to their potential convert these performances to medals."

Khalid Yafai said: "It's my dream come true going to the greatest show on earth.

"Hopefully Beijing will just be the start of winning Olympic medals and I can take the experiences to London in 2012."

Joe Murray said: "It's a dream come true and I hope I can do Manchester and Great Britain proud."

Bradley Saunders said: "Qualifying for the Games was up there with the birth of my son Leyton. Hopefully I will do him and my family proud and bring back a medal."

James DeGale: "It means everything to me to be going to Beijing – it's what you box for."

David Price, the teamn captain, added:"It was an honour to have been chosen as Captain by my team mates who I have the utmost respect for and this shows that they have respect for me as well.

"To be going to Beijing is a reward for all the hard work put in over the last 7 or 8 years."
