YORKSHIRE rowers Debbie Flood and Andy Hodge have been selected for the opening World Cup regatta in Munich from May 8-11.
Harrogate-born Flood, who won silver in Athens, joins Katherine Grainger, Frances Houghton and Annie Vernon in the women's quadruple skull which has been crowned world champions in each of the last three years.

Hodge, from Skipton, is in the men's four alongside Tom James, Peter Reed and Olympic champion Steve Williams.

Munich will serve as the first major Olympic warm-up race for both boats.

GB performance director David Tanner said: "The selection process for the top boats was more intense than ever before with a number of GB rowers vying for places.

"Whilst it has been tough for the individuals concerned it proves the strength in depth of our Olympic squads. We'll look again at all of our boats after Munich before naming the line up for the second World Cup in Lucerne."
