Driver appeal after vicious Liversedge assault

Police investigating a 'vicious' assault in Liversedge, West Yorkshire are appealing for a motorist who took the victim to hospital to contact them.

A 36-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being attacked at an address in Second Avenue at around midnight on Wednesday.

It is thought the victim remained at the property overnight but then left the next day when he flagged down a passing motorist who took him to Dewsbury Hospital for treatment.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and is currently on police bail pending further enquires.

Officers want to speak to any witnesses to the assault and are also keen to trace the person who took the victim to hospital.

Detective Constable Shaun Topham, of Huddersfield CID, said: “This was a vicious assault and I am appealing directly to anyone with information about this to come forward.”
