Dozens of our readers have sent messages of condolence to the family of a Rothwell schoolgirl hit by a car on a grass verge in Colton.
The 14-year-old was knocked down as she walked along Bullerthorpe Lane at around 4.45pm on Monday.
She was taken to hospital and died yesterday as a result of her serious injuries.
Police are yet to release her name, but a number of floral tributes to Amelia have been left at the scene.
