Workmen making last preperations to the Hull Trawler Arctic Buccaneer before she sailed for New Zealand in 1982, defiant pupils wearing trousers despite a ban at West Leeds Girls’ High School in 1976 and sweet making at Pontefract in 1969 are among the pictures from this week’s trawl of The Yorkshire Post archives.

Also in the picture are Robert Forsyth, 25, helping to set up West Yorkshire’s transport museum in Ludlam Street, Bradford, in 1985 and a cavalcade of police vehicles in Leeds in 1970.
