Borderlescott is unlikely to run again this season following his brave effort in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp.

The Nunthorpe Stakes winner finished third behind the brilliant Marchand D'Or in the re-run of the Group One following the false-start fiasco on Sunday.

"There was a question of him going to Hong Kong, but I don't think the owner is too keen on th
at and there's not much else for him except for six-furlong Group Threes," said trainer Robin Bastiman.

"We're going to have a chat at the end of the week and see what the owner wants to do and see how the horse has come out of it.

"He's been in training since January and he didn't finish racing until November last year. If it was me, I don't think I'd be bothering again this season."

Borderlescott took in the major sprint races in 2008 and Bastiman hopes to follow a similar pattern next year.

"We'll do a similar sort of routine next year, start off in the Temple Stakes and go on from there I would imagine," the North Yorkshire trainer added."He's come back safe and sound and hopefully next year we'll have another bash."

There had been talk of him handing over the reins to his daughter, Rebecca, but Bastiman intends to carry on for the time being.

"I think at this moment in time I will do, but I could do with a few more owners knocking on the door," he added.

Fesko earned only £2,266 for her win in the first division of the 18th October Is totesport Saturday Maiden Stakes at Catterick yesterday, but connections could not have been happier.

Greg Fairley had Mark Johnston's filly prominent from the outset and gained the lead inside the last half a furlong before scoring by a length from Majuba.

Deirdre Johnston, wife of the successful trainer, said: "It is like having a Group One winner to have a winner for Will and Chris Greensit, who own and bred her. They have had horses with us for a long time."

Fairley went on to complete a 252-1 treble on Tim Pitt's Capal Dubh Alainn in the Skyram Handicap and Johnston's Giant Love in the Book On-Line at catterickbridge.
co.uk Handicap.

Nicky Mackay was seen to good effect on Brian Meehan's Misty Glade (5-1 favourite), who ran out a convincing winner of the Subscribe To Racing UK On 08700 506947 Nursery.

Whozart, 4-1 joint-favourite, came out best under Scott Dobson in the Better Safe Than Sorry Amateur Riders' Handicap.

Titus Andronicus gained a deserved first success under Paul Mulrennan in the second division of the maiden, and Digger Derek landed the TurfTV.co.uk Nursery in the hands of Paul Hanagan.
