Peter Chapple-Hyam's stable enjoyed a boost ahead of Royal Ascot when Brave Prospector landed the £100,000 Betfair Sprint at York on Saturday.
The Newmarket trainer expects to have about half-a-dozen runners at the Berkshire jamboree headed by Tariq, who runs in the Queen Anne Stakes tomorrow.

And it was in those colours, also shared by last year's Derby and Juddmonte International winne
r Authorized, that Brave Prospector carried to victory.

Chapple-Hyam, who stayed at home as he is under the weather, fitted Brave Prospector (12-1) with a tongue tie and it worked the oracle as the colt beat a competitive field.

He cut through the pack under Alan Munro to beat Victorian Bounty by a length and a half.

This year's Derby-winning owner Princess Haya of Jordan saw the New Approach colours worn to victory by Military Power (7-1) in the Daniel Prenn Royal Yorkshire Stakes.

"He's a nice progressive sort of horse, we'll keep coming through handicaps and there might be a nice race at Newmarket's July meeting for him," said trainer John Hills.

It was a dream came true for Alison Deniel when she lifted the Queen Mother's Cup for women amateur riders on Step This Way (14-1) beating Philanthropy by four and a half lengths.

"That was absolutely fantastic. I was lucky enough to get the ride thanks to my weighing-room friend Lorraine Ellison,"said Deniel, who won her weight in champagne.

Jimmy Quinn followed up his treble at the track on Friday with victory on Re Barolo (7-1) in the Cadogan Silver Salver S. However, Quinn was later banned for six days after finishing third on Hotham in the Charles Henry Memorial Stakes. He got four days for careless riding and two for using his whip without giving his mount time to respond.

The race went to Richard Fahey's Harrison George, who got up on the line to deny his stablemate Trojan Flight.

The Paul Cole-trained Wildcat Wizard made a winning debut in the Leonard Sainer Maiden Stakes while Kerrin McEvoy had an easy victory on the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Decameron in the Michael Sobell Maiden Stakes.
