Johnny Murtagh and Aidan O'Brien basked in the warm glow of Royal Ascot glory with a vintage Group One double on the opening afternoon of the 2008 spectacular.
Not content with landing the Queen Anne Stakes with Australian import Haradasun, the deadly duo usurped that achievement when Henrythenavigator struck gold in the St James's Palace Stakes.
Ballydoyle have in the past been responsible for some of t
he finest milers in contemporary history and clearly have another exceptional talent in their care.
The Kingmambo colt has this season also won the English and Irish 2,000 Guineas to confirm his status as undisputed champion of his generation.
While his Ascot success was perhaps not quite as aesthetically pleasing as his Guineas triumphs, Murtagh always exuded confidence.
Although anchored at the rear alongside runner-up Raven's Pass turning into the lush home run, Murtagh's mount travelled sweetly and weaved a passage through runners to lead over a furlong out.
Once in charge, Henrythenavigator sailed forward to hold off the gallant challenge of Raven's Pass by three-quarters of a length.
Twice Over was a further two -and-a-half lengths back in third.
"You saw what he did in the English Guineas and he improved from there to the Irish Guineas," said O'Brien.
"The only thing we weren't sure about today is that he had never raced around a bend before, and things can change when you have to do that.
"Johnny rode him with extreme confidence and was never in any doubt."
Haradasun had finished sixth in the Lockinge on his first start for O'Brien, but there was no missing the target this time.
O'Brien said: "He was very naturally fast from day one and you can see why everyone was excited about him in Australia."
Equiano struck a 22-1 blow for Spain when making just about all the running up the stands rail to win the King's Stand Stakes.
Delighted trainer Mauricio Delcher Sanchez said: "He was my first runner in England - this is easy!"
However, it might also be his last for a while too as Equiano is now set to join Barry Hills.
Jamie Spencer enjoyed a facile time of things aboard Michael Bell's Art Connoisseur, a scintillating scorer in the Coventry Stakes and now a leading protagonist for next season's 2,000 Guineas.
Suzy Smith's achievement in taking the Ascot Stakes in a blanket finish with 20-1 shot Missoula, although rather overshadowed by other events, was no less laudable.
"We are mainly a jumps yard - we hardly ever have Flat runners and this is our first ever winner (on the Flat) so there'll be some party tonight," said the Lewes trainer.
John Best just lost out with the big-priced Kingsgate Native in the Windsor Castle Stakes 12 months previously, but made amends in some style as 100-1 shot Flashmans Papers did the business, with the Kent yard's Mullionmileanhour also placing third.
The winner is likely to take up his engagement in tomorrow's Norfolk Stakes.
Philip Robinson was handed a two-day careless-riding ban for his ride on Bukit Tinggi in the Ascot Stakes.
